Hmm. Considering I have no interest in dealing with origin again after ME3 original, Dead Space 3, and Anthem, might have to not buy this after all if this is true. Will have to do some research later.

I don't think they're trying at all. I think they're trying to raise short term cash flow to angle for a better deal when they're bought out.

Yeah no sorry if they release Apex and SW Squadrons without Origin requirements (you have to log in once in-game, which is fine) then there's no reason for this to have it. Remove it or I might aswell buy it off of some key site for half if I need to have origin anyways...

I hate to see that too. Would have been an automatic buy, but I'm getting to where if a game has all this extra garbage, it's an automatic avoid (or automatic pirate).

This part is a 100% dealbreaker for me, even if this version included the multiplayer.

Ya...I just popped over here to potentially wishlist the game as I never played the originals, but I wanted to see if they were trying to force Origin down our throats first and of course it's right there on the store page, wouldn't expect anything less from EA. Oh well, guess I'll just have to add this onto the list of EA games that I didn't buy such as Crysis 3 and Jedi Fallen Order.

I suspect tearing out Origin would have been another in the list of "nice to haves" that fell below the line, like redoing Pinnacle Station from scratch and dusting off the Multiplayer.

Eh I don't think so. Only Mass Effect 3 was made after Origin was a thing. And since they cut out the multiplayer that relies on Origin servers there is absolutely zero reason this new collection needs to require it. It's just EA backpeddling maybe cause they noticed a lot of people moving off Origin.
