Nah, you're interpreting it the way it pleases you, so you can justify your argument. Which is fine enough, I guess.
But in the grand scheme of things, remasters are usually giving another chance for aging games to be discovered by a new player base. Let's face it, the OG games are what... over 8 something years old? They have aged. Especially ME1, that really needed that modern touch for many things.
And I'm gonna have to disagree, being cheap has to do with it, cheap and entitled I would add. I see so many comments on here from people acting as if just because they purchased a product 8 years ago, they would be entitled by default to either a free product or a massive discount. I disagree with that. Strongly.
I own those games on Origin. I owned the OG, on both PS3 and Xbox 360. Do I feel like I am owed such a thing as a freebie or a huge discount? No. Why? Firstly because I understand that there is work to do. People act like rebalancing, adding new textures and modernizing game mechanics take a whole 5 minutes to do. It doesn't. It takes work. Would you like to be told your efforts isn't worth being paid as much? No you wouldn't. So why acting like this is any different?
And we ARE talking about 3 games having all that work put into them, and then including all the DLCs for those games, asking 60$ really isn't that big a deal.
$60 for games that not only we already have? I understand that having them in with new textures is great, but a remaster doesn't really convince me to buy it.
Also, Bioware really needs to do something, as they have lost so much good will from the fans, that I really don't think this price (and the related "offer") really improve that.
So what remakes are you seeing come out for less than $20 on release? I'd love to see that list...
easily can get out 70-80 hours of one of the best RPG trilogies ever made, it's basically an amazing deal for people who havent yet experienced mass effect, while still being a consideration for people who love the mass effect series and are fans of the games.
It's by no means meant for people who arent fans of the game and have already played it.
besides, if you're not interested in fancy graphics there's still the cheaper versions at a lower price, however if you buy them all + dlcs it'll cost you a bit
