why did he betray cerberus at the beginning of ME2? i dont remember the game ever telling you, seems kind of odd he would spend 2 years trying to revive shepard only to betray everyone

I think they forgot to explain it initially, but your answer is now in the Shadow Broker DLC.

Dr. Wilson was working for the Shadow Broker and the Shadow Broker was working for The Collectors who was working for the Reapers who was working for the Catalyst who eventually worked with Shepard.....

I think it's because he was jealous of Miranda's relationship with the Illusive Man. Since she was gaining all the credit for the work on the project. One of the terminals on the station has a conversation about his feelings.

Miranda oversaw the project but I don't think she was truly responsible for Shepard's recovery. Also I think there is some footage on the mission on the Cerberus base in ME3 that helps clarify some things about it.

But Shepard worked with the Illusive Man who worked for the Reapers but also made Cerberus and Wilson worked for Cerberus....

It does make sense that Shepard was a secret reaper. Think about it..... you press a blue or red button and all of a sudden people do what you say automatically? Sounds like indoctrination to me.
