And in ME3 he is basically unkillable if you novacancel, which you don't even need to do since you mow down enemies so fast (especially if you have Liara as a warp bot) and by the time you use your two novas the charge is back up anyway.
I stopped my playthrough halfway in and switched to Soldier and just breezed through the game. With Vanguard you got nothing like Adrenaline Rush + Sniper combo that just takes down everything in seconds with a couple of headshots. If you got the Widowmaker or that semi-automatic sniper, things just die before they can even reach you.
With Vanguard you HAVE to get up close which is just asking for trouble when you're up against enemies like Praetorians or, when that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Collector general insists on going CQC.
I do insist on Hardcore or above. Hell, perhaps I only even mean Insanity but don't remember how tough Hardcore was but I assume it must not be that different.
If you can't make it work with this set up then the problem is you.
For both ME2 and ME3
Soldier is the easiest class with incendiary ammo cheese and spamming Adrenaline Rush.
Sentinel is the most wellrounded classs that can handle every single situation in the game while being super tanks.
I don't think it matters a lot (just play whatever you think is fun), but I would probably say Adept is the worst in ME2.
Sentinel might be the "safest" since Shepard has good defense + Overload/Warp, especially if you take Warp/AP Ammo as a bonus talent to increase your firearm firepower. But you still have to know what you are doing and play pretty efficiently / ruthlessly in combat.
If you want to play Mass Effect instead of Combo Explosion Extravaganza you need to stick to ME1.
That's definitely not true. Abilities like Warp, Reave, and Warp Ammo destroy armor. Biotics main weakness are shields.
Sentinel can handle it with overload......
Vanguards should use either Reave or Energy Drain.
Adepts should refer to Vanguards use another squdmate for ammo powers like Zaeed or Garrus.
Really cool is the Geth shotgun, you can precharge the gun, use charge and directly hit with a charged shotgun.
I'll say this:Vanguard is absolute garbage if you want to use Biotic charge.Skill's basically bugging out 60-80% of the time spelling instant death since you kinda need it on insanity to stay alive by refilling shield.
Playing as a vanguard was the most miserable experience i've had in a game for a long time.I must've died overall about 50 times and 48 were because biotic charge bugged out 10 different ways.
On the other hand,if Biotic charge works the class is absolutely broken for anything other than scion and collector bosses because you are literally unkillable, charging around the battlfield one-shotting enemies with a shotgun. So yeah...i guess Vanguard's core principle of risk vs reward is true enough
Charge is ME3 is great...just requires alot of micromanagement.
Went into ME II as Infiltrator though, since I read the charge was buggy and thats just not for me.
You want my opinion? You just saved your sanity by not going Vanguard.God knows i lost mine trying to beat it on insanity difficulty and i feel like ♥♥♥♥ after doing that...
Sure, ME2 was the toughest by far.
