Issue: DisplayName field missing from registry.
What does it mean? How do I solve it?
It's a box that shows up and asks to sign into origin, but it doesn't work and asks me to activate the game's product key.

Only change on my PC is the 21H1 update.

I just started having this issue as well just 20 minutes ago. Finished ME1. When I went to start ME2, that same window popped up.

Rebooted several times, cleared Origin cache, nothing fixes this. Logging in with the correct credentials does nothing.

If its happening to you too, maybe its an issue on their end.

Game worked until around 3 hours ago when I finished Mass Effect 2. When I tried to start mass Effect 3 at about 30 mins ago I got the same error and now I can't start the Legendary Edition at all.

My guess is that the confirmation that I own the game on Origin broke somehwere around that time.

Edit: Judging by the second thread and multiple people reporting this, it's on their end.

This is exactly what just happened to me. Was playing ME1, finished, went to open ME2, boom, same deal.

Origin is a trojan of a [swearword], always has been.

yeah Origin in no help either they just put me on with a bot who din not help at all. Anyone have any ideas on what we can do?

Basically, my theory is that they're trying to get people to use Origin directly and bypass Steam. They did a similar thing with S3 years back. I've been given the option to "play directly on Origin".

No, EA. You can take your anti-competition nonsense and your wee orange trojan and /cough cough.

I have been going through Origin and it is still dose it to me. SMH i have been wating for this remastered game for ever and now they pull this crap.
