ME 2 (Possible Spoilers) Samara, or her Daughter?
So, as someone who's only beat ME 1, and 2, once before, I'm wondering, is there a benefit over choosing Samara, or her daughter?

For example. in their story they ask you to essentially choose "Samara" or her daughter ( I forget her name).

The obvious choice seems to be Samara, but what happens when you choose her daughter? Does she join your team, and or, end up in ME 3? Or is siding with Samara's daughter completely pointless?

If she does join your team, do you get special events with her? Is she a somewhat different class than Samara? Or is she just another "Generic" class/character? Much like Kaiden in ME 1, who bores you to death?

If you choose Morinth, She joins your squad and has loyalty. Gameplay wise there's no difference, Only real difference is that romancing and having sex with Morinth kills you. There are some consequences in ME 3, But I won't spoil them for you if you wish to explore the game bit deeper.

She joins your team instead of Samara and acts like her. The dialogue is different though and she has other banter lines (plus Dominate ability instead of Samara's Reave). She ends up in ME3 as a Banshee. The main reason to pick her over Samara is roleplaying, I guess. In the end, Samara gets far more screen time because she does cameo in ME3 as a full character, not just a named enemy.

Morinth is the name. As far as the Suicide Mission is concerned, the game treats them both the same. The main differences are the interaction and dialogues during down time so it's always fun to at least try both of them once.
I don't think Morinth appears at all in ME3. you get an e-mail from her. You later find her in the battle for Earth as a Banshee, there is no way to save her.

So basically... go with Samara?

Wow, I had no idea it was that underwhelming. I think I'll still choose her over Samara in ME2 though, solely for the renegade roleplay.

This is my second playthrough in legendary edition, and much like the first... Even as much as I "want" to try a renegade playthrough... I just can't.... My gut instinct just won't let me...

Yeah, I wish they fleshed out Morinth's character more; Even Jacob has something going for him, Morinth doesn't even appear at the Ardat Yakshi temple, which is really disappointing as you later find out she tried to contact her own sisters.

There was really no direction they could of gone with morinth in me3.

At heart she's just a predator. Basically a succubus that enjoys killing people for fun. It makes some sense for a pure renegade shep to pick her over samarra, But it also makes sense that Morinth would be fooled by the reapers. Morinth is drawn in by power. Like most predators backed in a corner, she'll look for a way out. (Morinth's way is by offering assistance, Just like she did to shepard)
What likely happened is the reapers ether captured and mutilated her, or they gave her some false promise of a cure for her disease.

Other than wanting to have the secondary experience, I found it weird that this choice cropped up when it did. What is Shepard's motivation for killing Samara over Morinth after everything Samara's told you about herself and her mission? I guess you could say that Shepard was mind-seduced by Morinth but canonically it doesn't seem to make sense since the only true ending for that route would be dying in bed with her, and we know Shep lives long enough to do the events in ME3.

Morinth's loyalty power is quite useful though.

I always pick Samara.
There is no reason to pick Morinth..... she's a killer who views everyone else as prey, forms no emotional attachments, so no loyalty, and is only going with you because she realises Aria T'Loak will kill her if she stays, and every port she goes to has her tagged as an Ardat Yakshi.

She even brags about lovers she's killed (although she doesn't actually say they died) when trying to romance Shepard, she feels no guilt, no remorse and needs to die...

Save the game in Morinth's apartment, choose her to unlock Dominate, then reload the save and take Samara. Best choice all around.
