From what I've seen, if you have the ability to back out of the choice, you can come back to it later.
You only get a certain number of slots to put points in at the start of the game.
to get more slots. You have to raise your paragon or renegade. Paragon is attached to charm. Renegade is intimidate. You do this by picking the paragon or renegade options in dialogue. These dooes not include just the blue and red colored dialogue options.
YOu also get points for paragon or renegade by normal white color options. You just get more if the dialogue option is blue or red. blue paragon red renegade.
But theres also white colored dialogue options that are renegade and paragon. YOu can tell this. By the location the dialogue option is.
Paragon is always the top option. Renegade is always the bottom option. The middle option tends to be neutral.
Your problem is you havent got your paragon up high enough to gain more slots for you to put points in charm.
You need to continue playing the game picking more options that give paragon points.
The Paragon points do raise it but you need to be a TINY bit further in the story to raise the cap of 5 too.
You can always come back and do these quests later too.

Specifically this part: "Head straight to the Citadel, *avoiding all assignments*; Exposing Saren - Note: Avoid triggering any assignments!"
Can you confirm that getting to expose Saren asap will *NOT* make any of the other assignments/ sidequests unavailable?
Also, in you experience, is it necessary to have Decrypting and Electronics at Avanced to access/ bypass the challenges in this 1st Citadel visit?
Many thanks! - p
2. Advanced D/E is not required for first visit, although if you're really worried about that you can focus on maxing D/E on yourself or a squadmate if you want. Those two are really good skills in combat anyway. It's up to you, so long as you do it at some point.
Also a bit of a warning on charm/intimidate checks. If you want the best outcome on Feros, you have to pass one of the hardest charm checks in the game (a whopping 12) or a less difficult but still fairly high intimidate check (10). So if you're going paragon, you may want to leave Feros for later.
Also where do i see total items in my inventory? what does it mean when i loot something that says medgel +1 etc... I can see my initial limit for 5/5, but i am finding this bit still somewhat unclear. I cannot see where it says how much i have of these medigels etc...
