How to assign skills to keys?

As the title says. I can't find this anywhere. (Possibly because I'm using DuckDuckGo, but anyway ...)

left shift to bring up the menu, drag and drop it to the bar with your mouse. I also struggled with that the first time I played ME on PC.

Keep in mind you can also put on your squad mates skills onto that bar. If you don't mind micro'ing them yourself you can use them better and more often than your teammates will on their own

Like the others said drag and drop, although ME2 in particular is wonky.

Thanks for the replies. FYI, I have to use the left-shift key multiple times to bring up the menu. And it seemed like I had to do the same thing to see Shepard's skills. But I was finally able to assign Shepard's Infiltrator skills.
Should I also be able to assign squadmates skills to keys?

You can if you want, but you'll have to change it every time that you swap team mates.

I thought of that one. But, I kinda wanted to give it a try. By the way, this is all so far in ME1.
