Is the Liara ME3 Romance broken?
I have romanced her, and gotten to ME3, and everything is going just fine. The flirting is happening. She tells me I'm a Flattrer. I tell her she should decide what to put in the time capsule thing. Everything seems fine, until right after Citadel II, when I'm supposed to go talk to her, she won't talk to me. She does the Zaeed/Kasumi style of conversation that was brought into ME3. Says something like Hello again, Shepard, and I have to keep hitting space to get her to say more. She says something about the place bring back memories, or something like that...but I can't talk to her. It's not the cut scene style of conversation with the dialogue options.

I romanced her in ME1. Got the full rekindle/romance in LotSB. The romance has been proceeding just fine according to all romance guides. I've romanced Liara more than any other character in my many play throughs of the OT.

I can only assume that one of the booleans is glitched. If I knew what values to look at in the trilogy editor, I could check to see if that's the problem.

This is the second time this happened. I assumed I made a mistake. So I started ME3 again, and again she won't talk to Shepard. Maybe I did make a mistake..

But it's not in any of the romance guides. The last conversation we have on the Citadel, before Priority Tuchanka, I "Make her talk the her dad." It's the Paragon option it appears. The Renegade says to tell her it up to her to decide. The weird thing is, those seem swapped...backwards. Telling her to decide seems more paragon, and making her do it, seems renegade. But, I don't remember that having anything to do with the Romance. If it is, they shouldn't have swapped those. The Paragon choices are pretty much always the choices you are supposed to take with the LI.

Anyway, anyone know the Liara Romance Booleans, Ints and Floats that have to be set for that conversation to happen?

Just keep doing main missions after Citadel II and eventually she'll talk to you.
Also how encouraging her to start talking with her father is supposed to be renegade lol?

Just because she's at point 6 on the map after citadel 2 doesn't mean it's lock-in time. A few missions after she starts hanging around there she'll send an email asking to meet you on the presidium. That's the lock-in point. It sounds like you're just a bit early.

Ah, OK, good to know. I thought something was wrong. I thought as soon as she was standing there, you should be able to talk to her. It's been a few years since I played, and a couple more since I romanced her.

Could be worse, Ash has nothing to say at all other than one time. Most of the time she's just there to say 'commander' and that's the end of it.

I hope that's something that's fixed in the next Mass Effect. It seems that they have done is make the cut scene type convos all about romance. Once the Romance is broken/not possible, those convos no longer happen. I would rather the focus just shift to friendship conversations, with some of them strengthening the friendship, or offering you upgrades/improvements of some kind.

I found myself in a relationship with Jack when I did not want to, simply because I wanted to keep the conversation going. I saw no reason Shepard couldn't want to get to know Jack more, without wanting to Romance her. In fact, I think with Jack, the best interactions...the ones that would make the most sense...the ones that would make Jack truly accept Shepard as a very close friend she trusts, would be for him to truly care about her, but not romance her. If he romanced her...with her past...she would put all of his niceness towards her, down to him just wanting to bed her.

If he truly wants to get to know her, he would be a true friend to her, and ask nothing of her...accept nothing from her, other than friendship.

Also, I'm not much of a fan of the third person conversations. Especially since you can't choose conversation paths. I hated that Mass Effect 3 started using a lot of those. Seemed less personal. Maybe it would have seemed less so, if you could still interact with them, not just press the space bar to hear what they say next. I hated that these were the only types of conversations you could have with Kasumi and Zaeed in ME2, other than on their Recruitment and Loyalty missions. Was disappointed to see so many of them in ME3.

I think that's possibly an issue with the games also having to work with Consoles. Seems like games have to be "less" to work with Consoles. That and GUI's that are meant for Consoles, instead of a PC GUI. I won't play Skyrim without using the GUI Mod for PCs. I don't want to Click three times to use something, when one key press should do it. Consoles need that because of Controllers instead of Keyboards to make choices.
