Ascension 4 is hard, and requires great optimization to clear consistently.
First, make sure you are on the latest version of the game. I updated the game last patch to smooth out ascension waves, so hard waves do not spawn early in sectors.
Tip: Be careful about mistakes you make over time. That screenshot shows a wave that is almost certainly a Game Over with your current deck and board state. That is the key thing though, "current deck and board state." You do not control which waves spawn. But you do control your board state and your deck. You likely made mistakes before this wave but did not notice.
You have several Spring.ft but very few copies of fruits in your deck. You can play fruit with a smaller deck to have more consistency, but without a bigger deck with many copies of cards, fruit has a hard time breaking bigger waves, especially when Trance stops Pomegranate spam. Playing small decks is not always the optimal strategy.
You chose a route with double Pathogens. Maybe that was the only choice, but Pathogens have 5 HP. If you do not have a way to deal with 5 HP enemies then choosing a route with different enemies may have been easier. Otherwise, you need to build your deck to deal with the chance of a lot 5 HP enemies spawning (like the screenshot).
Your Apples are not in position. Pay attention to the radar in the top left. You generally want to line up your cards with the large columns of enemies BEFORE the wave spawns.
Every run is winnable. But it depends on how you like playing. If you want to win every run, then you need to be more careful with your play and ask yourself "will the next wave instantly Game Over me" and prepare for waves like this BEFORE they spawn. Because after they spawn, it is too late.
That said, it is totally fine to play the way you find most fun! It just means the enemy waves may feel random and unfair. Because if you do not respect the enemy waves, then of course they may randomly Game Over you.
As for Spirit. They deal with daggers the same way other decks do. Tsuru attack -> execute is 6 damage. Kitsune attack -> execute is 4 damage. Kitsune can even tank a dagger hit since dagger was nerfed. Daggers are meant to take cards from you, so just remember if they are on the route and prepare for the wave before they spawn :D
Hope that helps, good luck with your Ascension runs!!! <3 <3
Yes,since then I learn the power of MJagicFlare. However, I could not always get it.Maybe I need to spend more time to learn how to play with the game.
And I think the two BOSSes of Spirit is too hard. Are there any solutions?
And in fact, all though big cards could deal with more situations. It would be deadly if you have no cards to use.So I hope to have more ways to draw cards when play with bigger deck.
Ah, you have to build a deck to deal with them. They counter playing lots of cards at once, but if you don't play cards, they do not do much. So play slower and focus on getting good cards on the field and attacking multiple times.
As for small vs big deck. Always have to balance power with consistency. There are many generic draw cards (afterburner, magic ember, treasure, etc). Using a small deck makes Reprogram very strong, but you have to play carefully when things like Daggers are around if you choose to play that way.
Good use of rerolls will also let you get a lot of very good cards. For fruit. Summer and Cherry are good for getting the cards you need. Can also use Winter to thin your deck.
Good luck!
