Floor 38 boss.
Playing on Master. I can't defeat her no matter what i do. I tried to up my level, but now i'm at the cap for floor 36.
The problem is unpredictability. I can't say what attack or move would be next, so after a few lucky hits i get hit by her, or need to move to land new hits, or both.
Is there some trick? Scroll from floor 37 mentions her trying to keep distance, but i didn't notice her any weaker up close...

There is kind of a way to cheese this boss. The arena is kind of shaped like a (+) sign, but the top and bottom of the cross shape are slightly wider. If you hunker in the lower corners of the bottom part (or upper corners of the top part) none of her attacks can hit you at all. You can pretty easily hit her from this position while she is in the top or bottom positions. When she is on the opposite side you can move left/right to shoot her while having enough time to dodge the sword slash. When she is on the same side as you you can move up one tile to hit her while still being out of her AoE range - time her attacks to avoid the sword slash. There is some RNG involved and you can run out of time if she spends too much time on the left/right sides of the arena, but I was able to win with all the available upgrades and a reasonable amount of time left.

Ignore the scroll advice, it will get you killed as Knight Succubus has an AOE attack if you decide to stick around and kick her. At higher difficulties, it can one-shot you.

The best strategy I've taken up is strive to be the farthest opposite of where she is on the map (She's up top, you need to be far bottom. She's left, you need to be right. Etc). The reason is to give yourself an extra 0.3 seconds to move if she throws a sword beam.

While you're maintaining distance, shoot at her once, and then dodge slight left or right of her firing cone (ALWAYS assume she is about to launch a sword beam, in other words).

Always keep at the opposite of her position, keep nimble to dodge the sword beam, trade fire. Engage the Z+X ability so you don't burn out of magic (But burn through your first bar so that if you end up out of MP or low on HP, you have your ZX move ready). Repeat until she's dead, then take her sword and brace for tears because the boss after her is even more of a pain in the ass.

I killed this boss easily with a similar way to what Carithekatt said. I was about to write a guide for beating Master...

Boss 3 - The Swordswoman: You will be safe from all her attacks in the corners, she simply can't reach you here. The diary you find before the boss tells you that melee attacks deal more damage to her, so you want to kick her to death, though this will be touch in Master Difficulty. My strategy for this boss was to hang out around the stairs where you start. Shoot your fireballs at her when she is across the room from you. Just watch out and dodge the magic she shoots from her sword, they come at you fast. When she goes down to the area where you are staying, wait for her to attack, then quickly go in and kick her once, then run back to your corner, wait for her to attack and then kick her once again. Repeat this pattern. When the Swordswoman is on the left or right side of the room you can stand in a spot and be ready to kick her, so when she decides to go to the bottom of the room, quickly land 3-4 kicks and run to the corner. This is a good way to hit her with several melee attacks.
Well, if you use this tactic she isn't very hard...
I think next one is the hardest. Clones not only make it hard to find the real one, but also hard to evade them all at once...

Light up both fires the clones will stop then keep your eyes on and hit the real one. Once the real one change to clone there will be a circle around her then light up both fires again.

Well, the problem is not in finding the real one. The main problem is the fact clones deal same damage as real one.
So I found it easier to light fires as often as I could to keep clones stopped as long as possible. Already finished the game.
for what i have seen everyone get at this fight with level 13 to 16 if you back and grind some to reach level 30 this fight gets a lot easier
