Was there a reason behind Cowman's removal?

I know that Holey basically replaces him entirely, and I am more than okay with that, considering the design is much better. I am just curious if there is an official reason that Cowman seems to always get the short end of the stick. I mean, hell, he didn't even get a Blue variant in the original The Forest!

I'd imagine the big fat red men and fat women replaced him for that role with the mutants so they have more attacking power overall?

Technically the Armsy and Virginia were not even supposed to be in this game in the first place. Holey fills the role of cowman in this game.

Side note: Always thought Cowman was such a dumb name. I vote we rename that mutant.

I mean yeah they listened to the fanbase asking for all the mutants back, so they added them. I just find it curious that Cowman was the exception.

It wasn't the exception. They added the Holey. It looks different, but if functionally very similar.
