We run it connected to the TV for co-op with the wifey, worked fine out of the box, other than that she needs to wiggle one of the thumb sticks in the main menu before mouse and keyboard input work.

My husband and I both run steam decks currently. We had issues with crashing initially, but cryoutilities seems to have cleared that up. Otherwise it runs about as well as I'd expect a forest game to run. Still has some issues, but I recognize a lot of them from the first game so that's not the steam deck.

We did have both of ours default the controller layout to the steam deck, but you can go to controller settings (can be found when on the steam overlay at the bottom, or you can rightclick the game in your library and go to "properties") and swap your layout for the WASD and mouse template if you want it to default to mouse and keyboard for a docked deck (how i prefer it personally).

Only other issue I can mention is that for some reason the game (and only this game so far) is like, unreasonably dark for me but not for my husband despite us both running a steam deck, and so far I have only had mild (but workable) success in compensating for that with in and out of game settings adjustments.

Does sotf work on steam deck as on the shop it says it’s unsupported??

The shop isnt always accurate about what can and can not be supported...and some games would only work if playing docked and in desktop mode it seems. Some games I havent had any luck getting to work at all just yet, and yet ive gotten some surprising games to work as well. So far SOTF can require a bit of setup to get working correctly on a steam deck, but it does appear to work (although i do play with mine docked and in desktop, cant say how it plays if you play on the deck itself, i imagine the already rather small GPS and minimap would at least be unusably small on the deck's screen).
