Cave Map
It would be so nice to just have a map, I am always so confused in the caves.
We had it in the prequel, why don't we also have it here?

cave maps definitely didn't exist when i played the first game, but i understand your frustration. After a friend and I went through one of the longest caves in the game, super spoopy stuff, spoopy monsters and all that. only for me to look up an item we got in said cave, and discover we missed two massive items. not necessarily progression stopping items, but still, cool stuff was missed out on. It would be nice if there was an easier way to deal with the caves from time to time.

they do want to keep the game in a slightly punishing state though. i dunno

I played the prequel a while ago and there is a cave map you create while exploring the caves. I don't know, when it was added

oh ok, I kinda remember there being a map you find and you do it for the surface, but i didn't remember a/the cave one. I may have missed it or skipped it. but still. I do agree it would be nice. some caves are super annoying. sorry trying to even remember the game makes me remember how long ago it was that I was playing it.

I think, you easily miss it, because you have to try pressing M while in the cave, which is not really obvious ;)

but wasn't the like. world map something you got off the priest corpses?
are you sure it wasn't a mod you were using?

I hardly use any mods in any game, definitely not in The Forest
I think, storywise you just use the backside of the map as the cave map or something

They did have a ful cave map that expanded the more caves you explored

I uploaded a map of the rifle cave that I have drawn.
This is for "Sons of the Forest" and not "The Forest".

Hope this helps.

Yes, the back of the map that you find in the main cannibal camp cave, is the cave map that fills out as you go along in the caves. I do miss the map feature in this one, but I believe the point of it is, all the caves in The Forrest were connected, and was basically to help you figure out where you were in the gigantic system, as to where most of the caves in Sons, are separate caves with the obvious exceptions.
