How can I DISABLE "cheatstick" after it was enabled, and how to reset a save game to day 1?
My save file has it stuck on and I would like to now disable cheatstick (console commands)

I would also like to know how I can revert my save back to day 1. Any help will be appreciated and I will give awards to those who give working solutions. Thanks in advance.

If anyone is curious why I want to do these things, it's because I've been building a crazy settlement that I want to use when my bro and I play the entire game together once 1.0 comes out. I already copied my single player save to the multiplayer save folder, but now I cannot figure out how to reset to day 1 and disable cheatstick (console command window).

When the console command is open you type in setcurrentday 1

That'll make it day one. And just press F1 or press enter when the window is open to close it.

And next time you play, if you want it to stay day one you'd type in locktimeofday

You might have to type in on/off or true/false after that but I can't remember.

Also whenever you close the game and reload, you'd have to type cheatstick again to activate the console command window.

Load a new game in multiplayer. Use cheatstick , godmode and loghack. Just build. do not pick up anything. Save often. When you think you are done, Press f1 type setcurrentday 1. press enter, save and exit. Cheatstick will not be enabled until you type it in again.

That worked thanks! I am now on day 1 again. Cheatstick is still enabled though. I think it is because I am using mods with Red Loader. Using ammo ui (weapon ammo hud element), zipline extender (extends zipline length), zippy (zlipline distance reader attachment), sons stars (adds back the stars in the night sky), and Illuminate (increases load distance for light sources).

locktimeofday will definitely be helpful in these last days before 1.0 release. Thanks! :crtamazed:

Using mods makes sense now. I didn't realize what you meant by the console command wouldn't go away. I had noticed I don't have to type cheatstick anymore and only have to press F1.

But the locktimeofday I use a lot on my multiplayer game. I build when my friend can't play and I don't want the days to keep passing by when she's not on.

Yeah the mods are amazing. I have yet to try the craftable gyrocopter mod, as I feel it ruins the experience of the game.

I just did an experiment... I used the zipline extender mod, made some towers really far from each other, then connected them with ziplines, uninstalled red loader and all mods, then loaded up that save, and the ziplines are still there! Very cool.

Yup. I love the infinite zipline one. Without the mod you had to alter code which took forever.

I play with a controller so I use a mod that lets you change weapons and stuff using L1 or R1. I also like one that lets you build underwater. And I also use one that shows how much ammo you have.

Most stuff I use is quality of life mods or building type stuff. I'm not on the pc right now but I think I'm using 11 mods total.

I had tried the gyrocopter one before but I couldn't get it to work right. So I just un-installed that one.

Oh sh*t I'm going to go look for the change weapons mod! It doesn't mess with L1 and R1 controller mapping in any other situation does it? Like when placing items on shelves etc?

Can you link me to the L1 R1 weapon switch mod? I can't seem to find it.

EDIT: found it. Sorry.

You're welcome. Yes, redloader will keep console commands available when you want them and cheatstick has not influenced my gameplay or saves. Not to say that it can't, it just hasn't messed with my gameplay, but I don't have mods installed...lol

Can you link me to the L1 R1 weapon switch mod? I can't seem to find it.

EDIT: found it. Sorry.

The only thing that changes is the zoom button on the controller. It changes that button to be a showcase for a weapon you're holding. If you're holding a weapon and press that button then it'll look like it's first time you picked it up with the animations. I just had to change the map zoom on my controller to something else.

But besides that using L1 and R1 for changing weapons doesn't affect anything else that I've noticed. Just make you still make hotkeys with the keyboard first and then you can swap with those buttons.

Do you know if there are any building mods that allow more options when building? Maybe the ability to build outward from high up without having to make all sorts of supports before using struts? I'm trying to build a base on the highest mountain top, but it's so thin and I can't build outward due to the game's building restrictions.

As far as building out on cliffs there's videos on ways to do it but they keep getting patched. Your best bet would be using that mod that makes something you built as a blueprint. But you would have to build it on flat ground or something first and then place it out where you want. I haven't tried on cliffs though so I'm not sure if you can place on the edge or not.

There is some console commands to remove stubborn pillars. And one of the mods that has a bunch in it allows you to build underwater. I've actually made either a zipline to a dock or long bridge out to the raft with it.

Here's the video for the console command and how to use it.
