Electric Cross Does not turn on. (Bug?)

Does anyone have an issue where the cross does not turn on even though you have it connected to a solar panel with electricity? when i play online with my friends , they say its on on their UI but for me it shows that it is off, and even thought im pressing the E key, it doesnt turn on
