Pale Cannibal Swarms
1 or 2 of them is manageable but I've been getting attacked by swarms of like 7 or 8 of them at a time and it's completely un-manageable. They do more damage, have more health, and a are much faster than me only being amplified by the fact that there's a large group of them surrounding me. To a certain degree it's probably a bit of a skill issue since I haven't encountered this kind of a problem before but I don't have problems handling large groups of them normal ones and the mutants that find there way to my base. Does anyone have any advice for handling large numbers of these pale bastards, It would be appreciated. I'm on day 38 btw if that's at all relevant.

Yeah, I had that happen to me, just a few minutes ago.
7 or 8 of these mutants attacking my base. Needless to say, they kicked my ASS!
I was not able to handle them with full creepy armor and Virginia as a helper. They beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of me! And I had a Shotgun! A little too much, if you ask me. I think it would be WAY BETTER if there is maybe one or two of these bastards and they are mixed with Fingers and Twins, or so...

Yeah idk what anyone is supposed to do abt that many of them especially since they aren't the standard pale ones, most of them are the really skinny ones with terrible posture that for some reason are harder to fight than the 7 foot tall brutes even tho they're anorexic pale cave dwellers that cant stand straight and take like 5 head shots from the handgun. It's not like in the original game with the pale blue ones that were tall and built and felt like a reasonable increase in difficulty, these ones are a massive pain in the ass and really feel like they're just there to ruin the fun of the game. I enjoy the new game and I liked the first one a lot but the balancing on this one is completely out of wack and it makes it kind of hard to play sometimes, good thing the core game play is enough to keep me entertained but there some aspects of the game that are like a knife in the eye. Combat with normal cannibals are totally fine and a decent challenge but things like these pale swarms and some of the cave spawns are really painful. The zip-line cave has an insane amount of cannibals and mutants, It might just be because I went into it one like day 20 and that might have sometimes to do with it but I used like 6 grenades and all my C4/C4 mats to get through like half of it. Bit of a rant but its cause I enjoy the game and its frustrating for the balance and progression to be so messed up.

The balance def needs some work, but that's stuff i expect will be done over time. Traps and reinforced stick spikes help, i scatter them around wherever im logging so i can kite groups through them as needed. The spikes in particular take no real effort of materials to keep around.

100% Agree here i am finding myself being attacked every 3 min. Instead of making uni's :steamfacepalm: i would prefer a update to fix this balance.

came out of a cave today and actually killed 27 mutants before they stopped attacking me, this was supposed to have been dealt with in the last update, maybe they got it wrong again?

Had 6 puffies, 3 fingers and 3 twins attack my base.

Day before, 4 demons.

Thank God they can't climb over defensive walls.

Just give Virginia a gun.

Noticed a group of regular grey mutants that attack you directly, can happen anywhere. Trick is 2 of the 6-8 mutant group are bosses Pufftons. One hit from'em on normal difficulty is -5 creepy armor, cant visually tell who is regular who is boss. So far found this assault group the most dangerous one. Day 175 encountered 3 such groups so far, seems randomly can spawn anywhere.

The boss ones are slightly taller and have specific movement patterns, The male pufftons are hunched over and move relatively slowly while the females crawl on their hands at high speeds and have long whispy hair

Move slightly to the left or right as they begin to attack. Smash skull in after dodging. Once you figure out attack patterns and the hit boxes the challenge kinda evaporates.

Also kiteing them around then lobbing an explosive in the center does wonders for group attacks.

I've not encountered these attacks but have you tried circle strafing them on the EUC while using the crucifix to get Jesus to incinerate them?

I don't find the pale mutant raids too bad unless i don't see them coming. I'll lose some armour and have to do some repairs sometimes but i think that's expected. If i see them coming i go for the molotov's. i have a bunch stored on the second floor just for this occasion, They don't damage anything but the enemy. I don't use walls but rely on spikes and i built on the beach so i have a far field of sight. the spikes stop them or slow them down while i'm raining fire down on them. I'm playing a custom game with all settings at max level (except long days not realistic). If you build too big a base it gets harder to defend, i like to keep them on the smaller side. I found that once your base is done and you've done everything, the attacks are the only thing left to do. They should put that artifact thing from the forest into this game so you can attract a lot of enemies to attack you and repel them when you've had enough. here's a few of my base's.

Those are some very nice bases first of all, second I was wondering if in your experience spike walls are more effective than actual defensive walls because I was planning on doing both but if ones better than the other then I'll just do the one because I'm trying to cover a large amount of space and getting rocks for every spike wall is gonna be painful as hell.
