I don't get lightbulbs/wiring

I have a shack with flat roofs, with beams underneath that make up the foundation (of the roof). I have solar panels placed on top of the roof. When I use a wire, I attach it to the solar panel, walk into my shack, and place the end of the wire on one of the beams. Per the diagram in the survival guide, I then string a wire across that same beam, and place a lightbulb on it in the middle. This light. Does not turn on.

Please help me understand.

Did you switch the lightbulb on ?
Got a battery connected to your solarpanel ?

Try on a smaller structure first maybe it will come easier.

I tried again and it worked. Is it that the yellow wires need to literally touch? Hmm. Thank you

i find the wiring a bit buggy.

I believe you have to complete the circuit back to the solar panel for it to work. So continue the wire back to the panel and you should hear the sound that it powers up.
