Using the torch to unfreeze turtle-shell water
It would be great, especially when you have a water collect inside, if using the torch enables you to unfreeze the water. By the way, for all my water collectors inside, I cut out one piece of the ceiling directly above it, and this works to collect rainwater while inside.

It would be really great if the torch can be dangled over the water a bit, to unfreeze it for a couple of seconds. It would be even better if it collects snow, that you can melt the snow first, the same way, and only after refreezing it looks like a frozen puddle.

I read somewhere a fire can be built underneath the shell, but I've yet to try it.

No, unfortunately it doesn't work. You can't place a fire underneath the turtle-shell, sadly. But that would also make sense. They should consider an option like that.

I keep warm during winter sitting next to a bonfire of cannibals.

Thanks for clearing that up, I guess the next thing would be to get the fire as close to the shell as possible, see if that makes a difference.

Sorry I just haven't played in awhile, the game is so buggy right now. I'll definitely hop on after the next update in 3 days and see what's up.

I really love this game I hope the Devs are serious about it.

+1

The mixed feelings for something you see has a lot of potential but don't know if it can reach all that before the deadline. I genuinely hope they keep it another year under development.
