It's the same people who knew the game was going to be in Early Access weeks before it could be purchased, bought it knowing it was in Early Access, and then have thrown a fit because it's in Early Access.
from steam store:
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We are hoping to be in early access for around 6-8 months, but this could change. We will leave Early Access when we are certain this is the best version of the game possible.”
versus
what the state of the game is rn
is the reason why people are concerned, upset, outraged, etc.
stop spreading strawman argument as "fact"
Roadmaps are nothing more than tools to slow down complainers, which in the SotF community, is a futile effort anyway, since most people here will open 15 threads a day talking about how trash the game is if they find a single strand of grass with a slightly funky texture. No reason for Endnight to waste time making a roadmap for a bunch of people who are going to complain the same amount whether theres a roadmap or not. Its purely wasted effort on their part.
If they just came out and said, no our game isnt going to be a survival horror game afterall... our game is going to be the island survival version of saints row... week 13 will have dildo-bats and gold chains... then Ill just bail. Im sure a lot of others would as well.
That's why they said nothing on release, so they could 'steal' funds off the ppl that came from 1 expecting to see the forest part 2, survival horror and not some wtf 4yrs, cheap knock off multiplayer pointless shooter with tea bags, with no survival aspects what so ever.
i wouldn't have bought it.
wasted my money supporting their up and coming farce on day one.
don't need a road map to see a train wreck lol
yeah we ah, released early so we could get player opinion 'doesn't say a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ word at all since day one'
That's kinda my point in the first paragraph. Roadmaps mean nothing. Developers no longer stick to them, they just put them out to get people to shut up, which in this community, wouldn't matter anyway because nothing can stop the majority of this community from complaining.
Take the other person who responded to you as an example. This game is literally The Forest, but with guns, a thing that has been very clearly displayed in nearly every trailer released about this game since day 1, yet, they insist that because it is EXACTLY what it was advertised as, that it is a farce. Either they intentionally avoided every trailer before making their purchase, which was a dumb idea on their part, or they seen them and chose to ignore them for the sake of being upset and complaining when the game came out and it had exactly what the trailers advertised that it would have, aka, someone who's plan from the second they clicked "purchase" was to complain incessantly.
All that being said, I wouldn't get your hopes up about better survival mechanics even if they promised them in a roadmap. This game pretty much shares all the same mechanics as the first, except that hunger and thirst doesn't kill you currently. It probably will in time, but there is no reason to expect there to be any additional survival mechanics that aren't already there.
