Help! Sons of the Forest Crashes My Entire System

Hello, everyone.

I’m facing a critical issue with Sons of the Forest, and I’m hoping someone here might have encountered the same problem or knows how to fix it.

The game is causing my entire computer to crash, freezing specific drivers such as the network, mouse, and audio drivers. When this happens, I can’t restart or shut down the PC through Windows—I have to force a shutdown manually.

What I’ve Tried So Far
Here’s what I’ve tried so far to resolve the issue, but none of it has worked:
  • Reinstalled Windows (clean format).
  • Moved the game to a different drive.
  • Ran the game as an administrator.
  • Deleted my save files multiple times.

The crashes seem to happen randomly while I’m playing: whether I’m building, flying the glider, or exploring a cave, the game suddenly freezes my entire system.

System Specs
Here are my PC specs:
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz
  • Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD + 500GB SATA SSD
  • Graphics Card: RX 6650 XT (XFX)

Call for Help
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be related to my hardware or drivers? If you have any ideas or suggestions, I’d really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Vinitor3

My guess would be heat or low voltage issue. Sons is a very demanding game and can stress you PC more than most games. Try using a heavy benchmark utility and see if you get the same issue. A failing power supply can cause stability issues if it isn't supplying the correct voltage to your ram, cpu or gpu.

I am suddenly having the same issue. All my system is fine and run heavier games than this no issue.
I also have an AMD graphics card. My temps are fine, my voltage is fine, ram is fine. It's simply JUST this game doing it.
Its a problem with amd, nothing you can do , my pc crash on a cave and i only fighting 1monster, gotta wait the dev fix it, cant hope amd send new update for this only game

Try disabling Radeon Anti-lag or Radeon Boost through AMD software settings. See if that works in the meantime, while you wait for the update (which could take a while).

Please let me know if that works...
It wont, i know AMD behavior.
What might work is -15% power limit on amd
i have the same issue
i had the same problem, i updated my grafic drivers and now it's all fixed

Wait therebare new update from Amd already?
I see AMD still has GPU driver issues. That's why I stopped using them with my last 3 PC builds.

It's not them, the game have bad wonky tonky code make the gpu stressed then the psu or the motherboard protect the gpu by shutdown it

My other 3080ti always crash like this on specific VR game,

1. Download and install AMD Radeon Software if you somehow managed to uninstall it accidentally or didn't have it already set up on your system.

2. Go to AMD's Driver & Support page and select your GPU model, make sure it's correct or use the auto-detect tool and don't disconnect from the internet when updating.

3. Check if it's not a Windows Update, as opposed to an AMD update, you're actually missing. If none of this works go to Device Manager and update Display Adapters.
Yeah no, there is no new update iam using amd adrrnaline amd subs to their newsletter
Can somebody try clear cache or reinstall driver, currently i dont access to my pc
