Similar games?
Hello,

My buddy and I finished the Forest and enjoying this one as well. I think we are half way through this. So, we are wondering what are some other games that are similar to the Forest franchise in terms of exploration and mild open world survival craft, and by mild I mean at most like the Forest, we aren't that much into building epic stuff. Just survive, fight, explore, solve puzzles etc.

Cheers!

I don't think there any game like it without being huge studio. I can only recommend similar since I also been tryin to find any similar The Forest as well but no luck.

Most game here require you to build thing soooo sorry that all i have played

7 day to die (Not really recommend for being nomad)
Beyond Human (Online green purple epic weapon lootbox type game but game is free. Must build to progress)
SCUM (You can kinda nomad solo or coop if u choose. It does giving you out and camping vibes)

and those DayZ genre like generation zero but I dont know if you can craft thing or not
That all top similar for me. Nothing quite like The Forest. I guess dev want to make game that make them money instead of making fun game. There are also solo/small dev type game like
The Infected
Mist etc. but these I feel like you must build to enjoy the game and 95% i feel like most game here got no puzzle

subsistence is a coop survival game that looks good, i bought it but haven't played it yet so i can't recommend it. check it out on utube and decide for yourself.

raft is a good game and is co-op, you can build some pretty nice rafts. I built a pirate ship and the uss enterprise and they turned out pretty good.

subsistence building is a must and then you will begin grinding to improve tiny bit quality of life by 0.1% I quit among a few after people start to can not take the grind anymore with update that you need pearl to make medkit. It was a final straw to few people and me

There is also Icarus and it's on sale atm.
Green Hell is a sort of slightly more complicated clone of the Forest.

To build on this, the base mechanics are much more fleshed out but the survival aspect is much more difficult as everything can and will kill you with no mercy.

I wouldn't recommend 7DTD. The optimisation in that game is appalling, and the fact that the main source of lag is the zombies themselves, in a game where hordes of zombies attack your base daily, is a joke. That being one of the lesser issues of the game.
SCUM I would say is a meh choice, I'd opt for DayZ over scum. While I haven't played it in a long long time, there were too many systems to deal with on top of the game not having a lot of content at the time I played (this was before they added the celebrity skins)

Green Hell might be the closest one.
Enshrouded is also good, stranded deep, Subnautica, valheim, Empyrion
Dinosaur Survival...
Ark Survival Evolved... the old one was brilliant, but sadly abandoned by developer. No Multi-Player any more. Superior version, but abandoned by Wildcard, to push you to buy the next one, aka... Ark Survival Ascended.

Ark Survival Ascended... Ark Survival Evolved updated with a new Game Engine... buggy, but beautiful mess.

Developers aren't fixing problems...
- Invisible Raft Structures on loading your game
- Forcefield around Rafts added in update, to stop you putting your Big Cat on them.
- Terrible AI underwater
- Crashes To Desktop ( see Discussion for it, on Steam )
- Game Tweaking via Command Lines removed
- Dumbed down Taming, 8 Hour marathons, reduced to 1 or 2 Minutes.
- Paid Mods pushed ahead of Free Mods, in Mod Store
