I have been having issues with crashing in the game as have many others, and after trying numerous fixes I hapenned upon one that worked for me. Hopefully this works for some of you.
All you need to do is increase your virtual memory
-In the windows search bar, search "advanced system settings"
-In the advanced tab, press on the "settings" of the performance part.
-Navigate to advanced tab and then press "change" in the virtual memory part
-uncheck "automatically manage paging file sizes for all drives" and select the drive on which the game is installed
-Select custom size further down
-Set initial size to 1.5 times the amount of ram you have in megabytes. If you have 8gb that would be 12288,if you have 16gb then it would be 24576
-Set maximum size to 3 times the amount of ram you have. 24576 if 8gb of ram and 49152 if 16. If you have more or less do the maths yourself
-Set and apply all changes and start the game
From google.........................take with pinch of salt.
I ♥♥♥♥ you not I circumvented this by keeping my head underwater in the room where it crashes. For some reason that I don't understand, instead of a hard crash to desktop I only got a small hitch and after that the game just kept going.
I have absolutely zero clue how or why this worked, but I am NOT complaining.
