Anybody seen this with the Tree House?

I build the 96 log stock tree house (bigger of the two). I climb the rope and I am on the ledge when tomato-boy does a running leap and comes lunging at me. Of course he can't reach me but he knocks the rope off! After the threat is over I can't find a way to reattach the rope. I've tried the repair tool. I've tried wielding the rope and looking at different angles for the down arrow to attach the rope. Anybody seen this or have any ideas?

Use a log ramp, or nerd pole with logs until you can hop on. Put some stakes or traps out to keep them out of there later.

Yup, you've got to get high enough for the game to "see" the rope connection point.

Okay. So I can't do it from above? Because I tried from the platform and no bueno. I also tried on top of a log standing straight up. I will go higher but still underneath the connection point.

Maybe it won't give you the option because that part of the platform is damaged. Hit with repair tool all around, and then try for rope connection again.

That sounds pretty cool. I was trying to build fast since I am doing an ultra hardcore mode game where I max the difficulty and don't use any non-crafted weapons except axes. Also don't eat, drink, or use any medicine that is not native to the island (no MREs, Energy Drinks or Pills). HUD is disabled. And don't use GPS. At one point I was standing sticks straight out of the ground as a way to track my exploration path from base so I could find my way back.

And you were right. I reloaded an earlier save and watched red-tank-man jump and break the log supporting the rope. Once I replaced the log it was easy to attach the rope.
