Good point, Endnight has already released The Forest on PS4, so they definitely have some experience with PlayStation development. But even with that background, they might still be taking their time with Sons of the Forest to ensure it's fully optimized for PS5. It could just be a matter of prioritizing the PC version first, and then releasing on the PS5 version later.
They will likely first iron out some pervasive bugs in PC before going to another platform. So, it should be out in PS5 already in terms of "this is taking long." But it also shouldn't yet in terms of "there's still some bugs to fix." For now, expect delays, and especially in VR.
