Defensive wall blueprints

It doesn't seem like you can snap at 90 degree angles or even continue in a straight line when placing blueprints for defensive walls after a wall is already built. Hopefully this makes sense! For example, i built a length of a wall and i want to continue it out further, but it's impossible to make sure it running along the same line as the existing.

Any way around this that I haven't figured out?

In the first Forest for the build drawing of foundations and fences and walls, the snapping points for 90 degrees and 'straight' was very useful, almost required as part of how it worked.
