There is a number of other ones. I suggest checking the site.
Additionally, any big update will destroy mods, but you can hope that your savegame is still compatible if you haven't used any.
I was just about to reference this and then I scrolled down to your very nice response. My only commentary is that I wish Toni Macaroni would find a way to put these mods on the Thunderstore mod manager, to overcome needing the Redloader executable. He would need to wrap it up in the BepInEx-compatible framework though, which could be a headache he's avoiding.
A mod loader is always needed to load mods. You simply can't run mods without it. What is the reason you want them on the Thunderstore mod manager? He'd also need individual mod devs permission to do so.
As for the lack of mods. I think the main issue is the lack of modders. There are currently around 5 active modders who managed to pump out a pretty good amount of mods. We have tutorials, docs and open source mods for anyone who wants to give mod creation a try. It's also pretty doable. There are plenty of games that are way harder to mod and have more mods available for them.
Like Regi said there are also frameworks coming to redloader that allow anyone to make content for the game (like blueprints) without any coding experience or deep knowledge of the game.
For anyone looking to learn how to mod this game I have a video tutorial series here. There is only a few videos now, but I will be including more over time. Its designed to be beginner friendly even for people who haven't coded before. There are also downloadable open source templates that you can use in your own projects(see licensing).
