lack of mods for this game ?
Theres just 2 pages , and the craziest i found was a airplane mod and thats it .
Why is there no new structures to build mod , or more enemies and features.

Its literally just some cheat mod menus , a airplane . and some tweaks

I would like very long zip line mod
Go ask on the discord then, I heard this game is really hard to mod apparently.

You don't need a mod for that.

Additionally, any big update will destroy mods, but you can hope that your savegame is still compatible if you haven't used any.

I was just about to reference this and then I scrolled down to your very nice response. My only commentary is that I wish Toni Macaroni would find a way to put these mods on the Thunderstore mod manager, to overcome needing the Redloader executable. He would need to wrap it up in the BepInEx-compatible framework though, which could be a headache he's avoiding.

A mod loader is always needed to load mods. You simply can't run mods without it. What is the reason you want them on the Thunderstore mod manager? He'd also need individual mod devs permission to do so.

The executable for redloader (redmanager) is the same like mod managers for thunderstore or the installer for melonloader. Just a way to make it easier for users to install redloader and mods. However there is nothing stopping you from just unzipping redloader into the game directory and installing mods by dropping them into the "Mods" folder. Most mods for this game are available on sotf-mods.com or nexusmods.com and are made with redloader simply because it offers a tighter integration with Sons of the Forest and makes certain tedious tasks easier.

As for the lack of mods. I think the main issue is the lack of modders. There are currently around 5 active modders who managed to pump out a pretty good amount of mods. We have tutorials, docs and open source mods for anyone who wants to give mod creation a try. It's also pretty doable. There are plenty of games that are way harder to mod and have more mods available for them.

Like Regi said there are also frameworks coming to redloader that allow anyone to make content for the game (like blueprints) without any coding experience or deep knowledge of the game.

For anyone looking to learn how to mod this game I have a video tutorial series here. There is only a few videos now, but I will be including more over time. Its designed to be beginner friendly even for people who haven't coded before. There are also downloadable open source templates that you can use in your own projects(see licensing).

Axel also has a modding course here.

And Toni some documentation here.
