Nope this is not a joke, well partially, but when it comes to optimisation the devs could have done it beter, so thats why compared to the forest, sons of the forest is a bad game.

If you expect the same performance/fps (using the same system) between The Forest & Sons Of The Forest then you're ignorant.
Sons Of The Forest is more demanding but also much better looking (it's using more modern graphic features, is much more detailed etc etc).

If you got a somewhat decent PC, you shouldn't run into any performance issues.

I mean the price is one thing, i bought the game in early access and ngl the game does feel emptier and is more boring than the forest even though theoreticaly the forest got less content

The first game consistently has more players. The devs dropped Sons like hot garbage.

Optimization? Never had a problem. Stop using 6-8GB VRAM video cards in 2025. You won't get any better performance out of TLOU Part 1, Alan Wake, STALKER 2, Avatar, or any other AAA game released these days.

I had my fun with this game but I put so many hours into my one save I probably will never play it again. Plus the devs are gone from it.

nah hes right optimisation is straight ass, its got a memory leak or something, my fps drops dramatically after 10 minutes of playtime and I have a pretty good pc.

Define "pretty good PC".
Because I never had the issue you mentioned (memory leak/fps drop after few minutes of playing).

Msi 3080 10gb
Installed on an ssd
32gb ram

Had to download an updated dlss file and replace the one that sotf has to get it to stay stable, only done a little more testing but we'll see if it continues
