As Ozzys_Dad said, the impossibility of crafting is a consequence of filling the inventory. You can't craft and combine what is already in the inventory in the maximum quantity.
Nobody listens to me.
But I think it's a problem with the game, actually.
I once had a similar problem. I even googled why I can't craft arrows anymore. Simply because the game doesn't even give any clues or hints, crafting simply becomes unavailable without any explanation.
Usually in normal games the player is informed that his inventory is full. In the forest, the crafting recipe simply disappears, and understand this as you wish.
Nah, this game doesn't hand hold. It gives little pop ups at the beginning but the majority of it is up to you to figure out. There's at least one person here who believes this game should assume everyone is brand new to gaming and hold their hand the entire game.
I like it when I have to figure out how to solve a problem myself. But I don't like it when I have to Google something to figure out why something in the game isn't working. Disappearing crafting recipes, instead of any indication of inventory overflow, is just a good example of a bad approach.
