I didn't even have a pc when The Forest came out. So I used to just watch it on YouTube. Once it came to ps4 I was so excited to finally play. I did finally get a pc last year but I rarely use it compared to console. The advantage with console is everyone has the same specs. So you know it'll run the same for everyone.
My current pc will definitely run it but it's not the same when all your gaming friends are on console instead.
The fact that Endnight isn't even working with their community over here on Steam is shamefully pathetic and bad. No communication on the platform your game resides on is simply ignorant negligence.
I play Sons of the Forest in bed with a Xbox Series X controller, sometimes 12 hours straight. You can still have a "Console" experience on PC.
I first saw The Forest on pc from YouTube videos. It took 4 years to come to the ps4. That's where I finally played it first. When I found out it was coming to pc first again I only bought it on pc cuz I didn't want to wait 4 years again to play.
I play it with my ps5 controller but I'd still rather play on console. So if it hopefully does get ported there I'll be playing it there instead of pc. People who are pc only don't understand the appeal of playing on a console. It's always about "graphics are better on pc". We can get 4k graphics and 60fps on most games. And the benefit on console is that we don't have to worry about upgrading parts like you do on pc. Especially if you don't have a high end pc. Plus it's more about the community for us on console and with ps5 the controller does things you can't get on a pc.
There's also a huge fan base for survival games on console. And The Forest is still the best one in my opinion on console. So I really hope this one gets ported when it's out of early access.
