Yes the game should be cycling between all 4 seasons dynamically. You don't have to follow the story in this game so the seasons will change as the in-game days go by, it won't be triggered by some scripted story events.
Changing Seasons
Pluck fresh salmon directly from streams in spring and summer. Collect and store meat for the cold winter months. You're not alone on this island, so as winter rolls in and food and resources become scarce you won't be the only one looking for a meal.
I'm assuming the seasons changing and length will be something similar to what DST has, if so that will be cool. It will give us plenty of time to prepare, depending on how often we get attacked by the cannibals/creepy mutants.
Every 2 months sounds better to me if this is the case. If seasons are going to drastically change gameplay, I'd prefer it not happen too often because it may be a little jarring. But making it customizable would alleviate any problems people may have.
EDIT: DST meant Don't Starve Together. Never played it before so I thought he was saying Daylight Savings Time and was even more confused.
I think he means Don't Starve Together.
