Seasons in Sons of The Forest
Anyone curious how seasons are going to be handled in the game? I wonder if it's going to be weird and winter will roll in after only a month or 2 in-game or if it will be a little more realistic. Maybe even adjustable to how quickly time advances or what season that you crash in.

I feel as it's perfect in DST. Every month or two in game would be ideal.

In the ign preview it looked like the same area in SOTF can be with or without snow, so I guess they made this part of the game dynamic which I think would be a great boost for immersion.

Yes the game should be cycling between all 4 seasons dynamically. You don't have to follow the story in this game so the seasons will change as the in-game days go by, it won't be triggered by some scripted story events.

Indeed, I just realised that the store page description says:

Changing Seasons
Pluck fresh salmon directly from streams in spring and summer. Collect and store meat for the cold winter months. You're not alone on this island, so as winter rolls in and food and resources become scarce you won't be the only one looking for a meal.

You're def gonna have to gather supplies to prepare for winter survival. Might need to hunt certain animals earlier to possibly dry skins for warm suits (maybe) for winter protection, if they include them this go round. And with the solar panels/electricity a factor, you're gonna need to make sure placement is good for winter sunlight. I wonder if we will be able to keep them free from snow, like maybe clean them somehow?
I'm assuming the seasons changing and length will be something similar to what DST has, if so that will be cool. It will give us plenty of time to prepare, depending on how often we get attacked by the cannibals/creepy mutants.

What is DST? An example that I know of when it comes to seasons is Project Zomboid. That game let's you choose the month you start in so you could start in winter and be in the thick of it or start before so you can prepare.

Every 2 months sounds better to me if this is the case. If seasons are going to drastically change gameplay, I'd prefer it not happen too often because it may be a little jarring. But making it customizable would alleviate any problems people may have.

EDIT: DST meant Don't Starve Together. Never played it before so I thought he was saying Daylight Savings Time and was even more confused.

EDIT: Bruh I thought you were saying that there is a game named DST, not literally Daylight Saving Time. I was confused for a second there.

I think he means Don't Starve Together.
