So you need to channel them into the traps.
the flyswatter and the bonemaker traps need to hit some of the stronger enemies (the big dude that points at you , the red guys and the chunky chicks) multiple times to kill them. I play with the highest settings for the enemies, not sure about normal game settings.
I play on normal difficulty, and it takes more than one flysquatter trap to kill one big red guy. I think two might do the trick, but then Virginia or I might shoot at them inbetween the traps, so not entirely sure.
