1.0 release next week but game is still misogynistic?
Okay, so the game's full release is next week but it still continues to project a really reallyyy strong sexist undertone.

I raised a few problems during early access and none of them were addressed, which proves there's a level of gender bias on the part of the devs:

- One big problem is Virginia’s swimsuit becoming see through in the rain. The 'feature' appears to only cater to perverts (mostly men let's be real), and it’s weird why the devs would intentionally add it, literally going out of their way... It’s a questionable decision and it's inappropriate.

- Virginia’s default outfit itself is a swimsuit, which is unnecessary and really objectifying. We all know why they did it though, ew.

- The achievement icon for placing a GPS tracker on Virginia is an engagement ring, which is just unsettling. Creeps me out.

- Despite playable female characters being one of the most popular requests in both of their games, the devs have disregarded the feedback, along with not addressing any of the other issues.

So, the game gives of a massive sexist and misogynistic vibe. Are the devs going to address ANY of these issues post launch?

She is actually quite the girlboss with a Pistol and Rifle. Give her those and watch her become the greatest feminist Icon anyone has ever seen on the island. If you really don't like it you can change her outfit to any one of the less revealing ones or use red censor.

Yup and I hope it gets even more misogynistic.

What does the image of the female body ever need to be "perverted"? Glistening with sheen fabric and water or not?

We need a safe place for art.

You could grab her one of the several other outfits from near the start instead of leaving her out in the rain you monster.

These are not issues to address. The only issue is people like you who make posts like this.
You need to go play something else and let us enjoy our misogyny :crtcool:

No I'm gonna give my feedback.

Another problem is that the devs sexist choices with the game have drawn a similarly sexist community, proven by the type of replies I've already had, shocking.
There are still no boats, the first game was better and the negative review will stay.

Sexist? And then the op says that mostly men are perverts, because of a swimsuit on an npc? Really? If a video game can upset you like that, then don't play it.

Some people live actually in the middle of nowhere they never been on the beach or atleast coastside cities they never seen a swimsuit in their entire life, and those are the one who get offended, or those from arab countries.

My only confusion is with all of the other things to worry about in life, and the op is hung up on an npc in a video game? Don't play the game and your problem is solved. Like , I can understand if the devs added secret code and fried a system, but my hang up is where the op says that mostly men are perverts? Excuse me? Sexist? Read your words again.

Ah, trying to push this agenda yet again I see. Endnight nor the community took you seriously the first time you brought this all up and I doubt it will take you seriously now. From the looks of all the responses thus far, nobody has much interest in misandrist behaviour.

Omg, I'm pointing out the devs are appealing to people with inappropriate interests (pervs), who are MOSTLY (the vast majority) men.

You seem older so your perspective on these kinds of issues are gonna be super biased, it's no wonder you misunderstood and got defensive over that.
Carter Rogue Feb 13, 2024 @ 11:06pm
Of course I am going to defend myself. I am a man. I am no perv and I do put women and children first. "mostly men" also includes me. So yes , I will defend myself as a man.

I hear you. I agree on a lot of it. Especially the swimsuit situation (getting seetrough when wet, and so on) Why does it need to become seetrough?. Not an issue that will stop me from playing, but I dont love those aspects of the game. Also the lack of a playable female character is beyond.
