Please explain the scarecrow benefits
Hi, players. I'm at a loss regarding the benefits of the scarecrow.

What am I missing? If you drop a fish or meat on the ground, I know it will get taken. But on the drying rack it doesn't. How often do we drop fish anyway on the ground?

Also, if you don't use the scarecrow you will have better odds of surviving because one fish equals infinite red meat attraction and feathers on the beach. I hung up one fish, and filled all my racks with red meat when on the beach. So, why would you use a scarecrow?

Then, there's the eagle trophy, something we want. Did they fix the fact that you can't lose fish on the rack, or do you still magically never lose fish even without a scarecrow?

Now that I have a working scarecrow, it seems like it benefits players less because they never fixed the loss of fish core issue. What about this patch, besides rabbit farming, has fixed the bugs and balanced the game-play, exactly?

It's great to have rabbit farming, but the rabbit meat still looks like steak.

No skinned rabbit like it used to be, which was more realistic.

I'm just not sure I understand how this patch, aside from the rabbit features, has made the scarecrow a net benefit to players. The developers said they abandoned the sanity mechanic too because they couldn't find a way to make it useful.

Well, really? You've got a cross, you could make holy water. You could draw holy symbols in blood. Things that counteract insanity in the game, perhaps. Near your base. Or even on rock faces or trees or whatever.

Also, it's great that I can throw Molotovs, but maybe I prefer spitting fire with the alcohol instead? It saves cloth. The player doesn't swallow the alcohol, but this loads a spitfire mechanic that pairs with the torch.

I don't know, guys. What's the logic here? First, we diverge from The Forest, and now we are going back to The Forest. Are we going to see rafts again? Or is this just a scatterbrained motley of nostalgic scope creep between The Forest with stars in the sky and this Sons of the Forest incomplete complete version 1.0 story-line bread-crumbing game-arch buggery?

It's easy to leave common sense ideas behind and scope creep towards the more elaborate. But where is the balance? The game feels so damn non-cohesive in the progression, and in QoL enhancements.

Where is that choice between craft-grind and high-risk pickup that made base-building feel more important relative to how you approach progressing in the storyline?

Scarecrow prevents birds stealing crops and now also prevents eagles and gulls from stealing food or live rabbits since they added rabbit breeding

Like the fireplace and other prints like it, it has a niche use, but is mostly for decoration
