Cant seem to find turtles?

is it normal to never see a turtle? they dont seem to be anywhere

Go to the beach where the raft is that has the 9mm hand gun. There are a ton of turtles at that beach next to the camp with the dead soldier. Look in the water as well as on land. They swim into the shallows there.

If you are at the camp of the dead soldier, walk along the shore towards the raft with the gun. Look into the water about 10 to 20 feet (prospectively) in the shallows. that is the best turtle spawn I have found in SOTF. Keep in mind time of day can affect this. Look in the morning to mid afternoon. Later evenings and nights I can not find them.

Turtles are more easily found in the spring, when they come to the shore to lay eggs. After the snow melts, go to the beach previously stated, you will have more turtles than you know what to do with.

Sea turtles can be easily found on the north west beach, also you can find turtle shells in cannibal camps at the same beach.
Also don't forget little turtles in the lakes don't give you shells so don't waste your time on them.

Turtle shells are now just laying on the ground on the eastern side of the map at cannibal sites or out in the open with spears sticking in the dead turtles, south of the helipads. They will respawn when you save/load the game. There's at least 2 different spots where there's 2-3 of them each, near the shoreline on sand.

Naturally getting to that side of the map early game is a bit of a trek. Best to master using the hangglider. More time efficient than a zipline network unless you do infinite ziplines by editing saves. If you bother to trek out there, making a small base on the helipads is easy to defend, and those platforms you can place in deep water make it even easier to build there as you only need a small defensive wall on the narrow part of the concrete to protect the whole base and farm bones and creepy armor. So instead of building the base on the concrete like I had to do, place platforms, build the structure on them, and use the concrete for defense.

Go to beach cave north i believe then east over to the tents on the beach then go north east round the cliff edge and voila no need to kill a beautiful creature.

All I see are turtles at the peninsula base everyday.

Mostly any beach they appear and what is strange is one time there were no sea turtles, I hope you mean those because there are other turtles that do not drop shells, and when I placed two water catchers about 3 sea turtles appeared out of nowhere.

They way they have the pot right now is nice you can simply boil water and carry it with you I think you get a day or two worth of purified water - I'm sure they will change this with an update and ruin it - if so I hope they have cheats so I can just spawn a turtle shell and a flask. - maybe one day I will find the printer and make a flask.. Turtles where great in The Forest as long as you had an animal skin water carrier .. 2 deer -- Using turtles in Sons of the Forest you still have to go where you put down the container but then if you have a base its nice .. some build a base with a pond inside.

i know im a year late but sometimes lakes at the golf cart area has them, also i found them along the beach right near the golfcart area. i think if you play on hard survival it becomes rarer to find tho
