Reinforced fire can't be lit

I put a reinforced fire in my base. I lit the fire and put a cooking pot on it. I ate some tasty GREG soup and eventually emptied the pot.

Now I can't relight the fire. The sticks are there. I get the "E" key to light the sticks. The light fire animation happens, but the sticks never light. I can't remove the sticks or the rocks and now there's a non-working reinforced fire taking up space........ update..... TWO non-working reinforced fires as it's happened again.

Any way to get rid of them?

Yes this. Only had this happen once but destroying the fire pit and rebuilding it fixed the problem.

I tried smashing like crazy with the axe .... how long does it take?
I forgot to say in my OP that I tried it, but the sticks and rocks never seem to take damage.

Do you have building damage on? If it is off, you can not destroy anything you build.

I don't think building damage is on. We're on a dedicated server. Cannibals have destroyed my large log storage, so I guess building damage is on.

yes if you had a building destroyed it is on. Keep hitting the fire pit, it will break. Just takes a surprisingly long time.

OK ... I finally chopped the fire until the rocks popped off and I could collect them. The fire should be a"C" pick up key, or at least only take 3-4 hits to pop the rocks off.
