Why is the rebreather so integral to the game?
I've been playing this game with a friend who is new and we've gone in 5 caves we cannot do anything in because we dont have the damn rebreather. If it is so important and i cannot progress without it then just tell me where it is. It should be the first item you mark on our maps. I'm tired of running around for absolutely no reason.

The cave on the beach. North on the gps.

Yeah I did the same thing on my first playthrough I didnt want to spoil the game but i gave up at the end and searched it up, hopefully they add something more obvious to prevent that.

Just use this[mapgenie.io] to know which caves to go to in order. It will save you a massive amount of screwing around traversing the map. It definitely got me PO going from cave to cave to only be gated by not having the rebreather. Once you know the game and where things are it's not so bad, but for a new player - what a stupid way to gate the caves. Just bad game design choices. Never really had this problem in The Forest because most the caves were connected leaving the player to have several choices of what direction they wanted to go.

The beach cave is the rebreather cave. I always make that cave my first stop because all the other primary caves require it to get through them.

Which is the stupidest decision ever from a game design standpoint. It wastes a lot of a new player's time having to figure this out on their own. Good companies don't disrespect a player's play time with poorly thought out game design choices.

Lol right, that's why so many games from the '90, where NOTHING was told to the player and they had to, y'know, PLAY the game and find out on their own, are considered classics. Just because you need Mommy to hold your hand and guide you to the finish, doesn't mean it's bad game design! :steamfacepalm:

It's in the very first cave at the beach you spawn at, just follow the cave tunnels to the right until you find the radio, then take a left.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but there's like three spawn locations for the player. Only one is next to the cave.

You're preaching to someone who watched the video game industry be born. I know all about the 1990s era of video gaming. To compare games from then to now is a poor excuse. Games back then were limited by hardware and some things had to be left out so they would fit on cartridges or discs. Maximise game quality and exclude on-screen game tips or include all the in-game tips to sacrifice game quality and content? Which would you choose? I know what I would choose and it wouldn't be on-screen hints and tips. Furthermore, video games back in the day often came with instruction manuals and tops or hints and guides often came in magazines, was shared over the internet via forums, messengers, chat rooms and the list goes on. Huge difference from then to now. Those constraints no longer apply.

As for your mommy rhetoric, I'm not even going to touch that level of immaturity.

Hey I had my mummy help me beat Ganondorf when I was a kid, fun for all the family :steamhappy: idk why people rate their badass-ness off the ability to finish a videogame with no help. Sounds like you got nothing better to do with your life.

On topic of the cave stuff, yeah the cave thing is defs quite a bit worse than the last game sadly. My current gripe with caves is just how hard it is to see anything. I can see they have hardly fixed lighting since the last game.

Funny mommy helped you beat the game. I never had a mommy help me play video games ever and I'm legally blind. I had to learn everything on my own. As for the caves - the caves are meant to be dark for good reason. It's not supposed to look like a bright sunny day inside caves. Ever been in a real cave? I assure you it's very, very dark inside caves. Torches exist in the game - as do flares and flashlights. Use the tools the game provides.

skill issues.

It's completely integral, yet you can beat the game without using up a single oxygen tank.

Then you forget it exists until you go swimming.

You want the game to tell you where all important items are? If you don't want to actually progress on your own just use Google..

Can you Tell from what Games you are talking, which gave you no hints whatsoever?

I was just a Lil Baby in the era you are talking, but my Mommy(yeah, my Mom was the First Gamer in my Family, any Problems with that?) Played a Lot of Games. And No one of These had stuff Like that, where you get No Info at all about one of the Most important items in the Game ...
