Already tried walking far, like, VERY far, pretty much the other edge of the map. He stood there, didn't follow or teleport.
these devs don't give a ♥♥♥♥, it's been like this since 9 months ago
Sleep until he spawns nearby. Also sometimes he spawns laying by the fire if you have one along with the tarp shelter
No! No reload/ restart helped here.
i started during winter, but once the ice started melting Kelvin got stuck immediately.
he wouldnt listen to any orders at all, just stand in the same spot 24/7.
i had to spend a few days without him going while finishing up the story.
right before the final bunker, i saved and quit with a tarp outside.
when i started up the game again the next day, voila, he was right there with me.
conclusion: maybe try restarting the game/session? that unintentionally worked for me after having him stuck there for several in-game days.
sadly no. Equal how often I reload and or leave an area my dumb bro is alaways hiding under the big stair. It is interesting that he could be imprisoned. If I ever got him free, I will bring him to a real new build prison where he could stay if he got on my nerves.
I know what someone could think now: "Why he won't destroy the stair to let Kelvin free?" Everything in Sons of the Forest based on the right placement. Some structures can only be built after something else has been built first. The staircase is large and massively built. It would take me another hour to free the bum and I don't know if he'll slip back in there...
Maybe someone here know a console command to be able to teleport Virginia and Kelvin?
true. building in this game can be quite the task. accidentally remove something wrong and reap the consequences :p i lost an entire afternoon of work that way
as for the console command, i dont happen to know them. i havent used the built-in ''cheats'' yet, so i cant confirm if thats possible. sounds like it should though.
if that doesnt work, one last alternative could be a save game editor.
they allow you to pretty much change anything in your save, from adding weapons/items to finishing entire blueprints.
the one i use is called "SOFTEdit", i got it from Nexus online (just need to sign up to download). it's a great tool to have but also fun messing around with.
it does A LOT :p
SOFTEdit has the ability to teleport either Kelvin or Virginia right to your present location.
that could be anywhere.
cant really give you any other solution, but looking up console commands first would be a great idea :) no need to download 3rd party software that way.
P.S.
''If I ever got him free, I will bring him to a real new build prison where he could stay if he got on my nerves.''
yes hahaha creative idea. might just use that myself :p
I have no clue how to alter game files so I am guessing Kelvin will be on the island forever...I will visit but I sure miss his help.
Just move him in the save file. Just a little.
