Total of things I tried:
1. Older backup of savefile
2. Validate game files
3. Disable SpecialK (injection software) / you probably don't have this
4. Update graphics driver (I have Nvidia)
I tried all 4 of those but none worked, when i switched back to DLSS everything stopped breaking. However, the driver update could have also been the reason but its hard to tell.
I dont want to go back to FSR3 to try since the game would crash my pc so hard then upon rebooting, my monitors would have loads of dead pixels and artifacts/ broken colors etc. Was kinda super worrying.
TLDR: Turn FSR3 off or switch to DLSS.
ps I am using DLSS
To find the crash folder, you can paste this into your windows file explorer and then you can zip up the crash folder and email it to evan@endnightgames.com with a description of when you are crashing (On main menu, during load, after loading in and playing for a while, etc)
%temp%\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest
If you do not find a crash folder at the path above, try the following instead
appdata/Local/CrashDumps
Additionally, if you would be willing to provide a dxdiag dump to the email i provided, that would also help.
To get your dxdiag, you can do these steps:
1. press the windows key on your keyboard while on your desktop
2. type dxdiag
3. You should see a 'dxdiag' exe appear in "Best results". The icon is a blue circle with a yellow x. Click this
4. your pc will go through your hardware and drivers, and open a window with all of the data.
5. Click "Save All information" and then take that text file it generates and you can add it to the email with the crash dumps.
what a stupid comment, so because people can afford a good pc instead of a potato you are jealous and "entertained" when something goes wrong for them people with high end rigs? and its not just 40 series i've seen loads of posts with all types of gpu's nvidia and AMD and it crashes.
