***Developers*** Game massively impacting CPUs
***For CPUS that fall between Minimum to Recommended Specifications***

Apparently, because this game uses the CPU/GPU so extensively, it causes the core temps to reach unsafe levels, thereby causing a system shutdown/restart to prevent hardware damage, especially after prolonged gameplay (2 hours).

I would like to add that my system specs also meet the recommended requirements for this game. Other games that I play, which are also resource heavy, do not cause this.

Exactly.

Ok. Shows what you think you know. I have proof otherwise.

Byyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeee.

Oh, and @Hellsmoke77...
Shove your properly cooled PC right up your keister so it can properly cool you.

Bye indeed, good luck with your PC.

Thank you, trolls of the Sons of the Forest forum. You can go back to your Nana's basement now. Your words have been read and thoroughly dismissed as inane drivel and ill placed loyalty. I have done what I can for my PC's performance with this game and still its crap code wants to overthread my CPU.

Your clucking will not change that. You constant "get a better cooling system" when I have met the demands of the devs requirements for this game, remains steadfast. You now speak upon deaf ears. Talk amongst yourselves...

I shall await a reply from Endnight drectly instead of listening to your crap.

@Borg excluded from this post.

Why are you insulting people? Toxic mindset.

Nothing can run cooler then a cpu stress test. There is no more then 100% usage. If your results where cooler then SOTF its a failed test and you should use a different stress test program.

Please post screenshots

F.Y.I.- Youre claim is extremely extraordinary. In fact it has never once been claimed before. That a program or game can run hotter then a stress test is an unheard of claim with huge implications.

You should send that evidence everywhere. You will literally be famous.

I can't even imagine the value of your pc to security experts and computer scientist. A priceless unicorn.

To be witness to a such a extraordinary claim, WITH EVIDENCE, is truly amazing. Witnessing history!!!

144h is also normal. By uncapped I mean no limit on it at all, so at the menu it's possible to hit obscene frames which overly taxes the gpu and cpu. Though in 4k it would be unusual to exceed 144 or even hit that target under normal play.
+1 like dudes computer be fine

Dang he's banned. Now we will never see his for sure real "evidence"

Assuming your pc could get damaged playing SOTF this just makes it exciting and adds to the intensity adds some realism and fog of war.

I think for years pc manufacturers often put weak video cards in pc's along side hardware that could handle much better video card meaning the video card became the bottleneck of the system..

Perhaps they cut corners now on pc cooling - not all pc manufacturers but perhaps many dudes in here have bought pc's from pathetic manufacturers that skimp on serious cooling given the capabilities of the video card and cpu in the system and the Ram and harddrive.. thinking or assuming the user is just going to send emails and buy stuff off of the internet and go to a chat room to find out what time it is...

So I will just say, in closing to this post, this brings up a real issue. As an IT professional, I have often been in this users shoes, where something "Only happens with this 1 scenario, but the other 100 scenarios work fine! It cant be the system!! It must be your software." I forgot the count on how many times my arrogant ass was proven wrong. As a 47 yo that has been in IT for 30+ years, I keep a very different, more open mind.

I also worked ISP tech support way waaaay back in the day for dial up systems and the troubleshooting was all the same; "Yes I know youve gone through this before but I still have to check all your settings. Yes I know nothing has changed but I please need to start at the beginning and check everything"

Moral: Don't be a douche bucket. In this particular case, Saying "I know what im doing", you think it would be obvious that a "software makes my cpu overheat" is very unique. This game would not have the support if this were the case.

Im more ranting at this persons obstinance that only a dev was going to unlock some secret code and go "oh snap, your right, here it is right here! Let me remove the 'overheat cpu' attribute".

I got my new pc at end of November I can see dust on the areas where air is pulled in ... so its been .... 7 months about so time to clean it .. ...<<<<---------- This matters noting but since this thread is so long might as well pile on ... ??

You win. Well done. Also I laughed way to hard at this.

CPU and GPU go up 10c with everydeath and is reduced by 5c every nights rest.

As much as I would like to post images of the testing I've conducted, Steam doesn't allow the pasting of external images that haven't been captured using F12. Thus, I will merely post what the results were. For the record, I have no reason to lie as I would gain nothing by doing so. I have already posted a review for this game that includes the fact that this game massively taxes CPUs, and can only hope that that warns future consumers. Doesn't fix the actual problem, but I can only do what I can given what resources I have.

Stress Test conducted using CPUID - CPU-Z v. 2.09.0x64 Duration: 20 minutes
CPU Utilization: 100% Core Temperatures: 76c
Gameplay Test conducted using Omen Gaming Hub Vitals Overlay - Duration: 20 minutes
CPU Utilization: 41% Core Temperatures: 83c
GPU Utilization: 80% GPU Temperature: 68c

These are the results. Believe them or don't. Doesn't matter to me.
