Any other ways to get water during winter?
Aside from rain catchers and the river. I based in a pond that freezes over and is a literal mile away from the river. The rain catchers seem to fill up really slow too..

Water in caves and bunkers won't freeze. If you completed the Artifact, you could use it to quickly travel to a water source.

SPOILER ALERT VVVVV
the artifact has nothing to do with the story

if you're camped in a bad place and aren't keen on moving, you can invest time into a zipline highway

Unless ur starting the game during winter on long or realistic, I suggest collecting water with a pot and storing them inside your base on like a shelf use it when its winter. If u are doing winter on long or realistic, just find a river thats running on the surface and collect water from there. Cave water might work too but i haven't tried that yet.

thanks all for the advice, but the very first sentence in the post is "Aside from rivers and rain catchers".
storing the cooking pot could be interesting if i manage to find a camp that respawns them, neat strat.

1. Craft a water flask and fill it with water
2. Eating berries and drinking alcohol increase your hydration level
3. You can plant berries and eat them to increase hydration
4. Find and use cooking pot
5. Try to shovel starting from one of the pond edge meaby it will dig the ground and make little water source idk.
6. Build more water collectors

Half of those things aren't in the game and the other half don't function in winter.

being able to craft/print more than one flask and then carry more and stock them up on shelves is the thing we need here.

and melting the shell rain catcher, can we do that now/yet?

You don't need flasks since you already can have multiple cooking pots and put them on the shelves.

Well nice spoiler right there in the first comment. Thank you very much.

You could use the spoiler tag like any other normal person.

I don't consider it a spoiler. Shall I explain why? You have decided to further discuss the subject. Is it a spoiler for you because you didn't know about it? In that case, any answer to the OP's question would be a spoiler. Did you know that you can carry multiple spears? Is that a spoiler?

If you don't want to learn things you otherwise didn't know about the game, I would recommend not visiting the forums or googling tips for games you haven't completed.
