Fireplace Not Relocatable?

In EA, you could place a fireplace indoors/outdoors, then pick it up with holding C and replace to a new location. Since 1.0, I have build a single fireplace inside my base. I decided to redo the base exterior walls with stone but the game is having issues with me doing anything near the walls of the fireplace. I attempted to relocate the fireplace, but I can no longer breakdown/pick it up like other built items (like drying racks or wall torches).
Not sure if it is a bug or not, since it may be intentional.
However, is there a known way to destroy the fireplace so I can finish base reconstruction?

i don't remember that this was possible in the last 5 months or so.

to relocate/delete the fireplace, all the wood has to be burnt out, no sticks in it.

I was so focused on the build, that it's possible I didn't check to see if there was still a fire going on. LOL

how do i burnout the sticks in it?
everytime the fire is off but the sticks still in the fireplace even camfire.

Ive been able to move one and not another. Both had fires completely burned out. Outside of that, just whack it with an axe, but youll lose half the stone.
