Bad armor balancing
All the defense armors depends on locations to be made, so depending on where you build your base you have to walk half of the map to find ropes and tapes, or go to a cave and try to farm some monster skin, the problem is the harder the difficulty you choose instead of increasing the enemies health it's increased the damage they cause, so to not die with one hit or two hits you have to walk half the map to manage to make 3 bone armors or even worse trying to farm it on enemies that one hit kills you, otherwise you will have to play full ranged using only bow because you can't risk getting close to the enemies

Also you have the heal items and the gold armor, the gold armor you only get after crossing a cave completely full of one hit kill enemies in hard difficulty and the medicine is imersion breaking since in a fight with cannibals you have to open the inventory and wait for it to full heal.

Medicine can be bound to a key with the hotkey system or put on the backpack for what I can only call the "tool-belt" system. And I think gold armor only effects damage from demons? As for the bone armor yes, it's pretty worthless unless you build right on top of a camp and have respawning boxes enabled but that still leaves you with armor that breaks after just one or two engagements depending on the patrol or camp size, in a cave you won't make it far before the armor breaks due to the AI being so busted and either never breaking off from all rushing you at once or just getting stuck with no in between.

Yes and it's a thing so simple to solve, like just having it as The Forest not needing ropes or tapes only the bones or add some plant that you can use to craft ropes like cottom or flax, and remove the tapes need for it

Armor sucks in this game. Bone armor is way too expensive to make for how crappy it is. Creepy armor is now way too hard to get with Pales not giving any anymore. You lose more Creepy armor than you get killing mutants. Mutants should now give 5 pieces of creepy armor each to make it worth it.

On the other hand, some say the game is far too easy. Nobody seems happy with it.

It's easy if you play the entire game using only ranged weapons, arrows, grenades, etc, but it's boring and not immersive i personally like the physical fight in the game if it wasn't so unbalanced

Sorry, but this is another "git gud" moment. You can easily make armour without going anywhere.

Use traps to farm enemies, then you won't have to use ammo or risk your own life.

Ropes are very common, you can even build your base somewhere ropes spawn on the ground. Get tape from cannibals' skin pouches.

See, there is a reason to build a base. :) The hardest part is waiting for the enemies to show up.

But armour is just life insurance anyway. It's there if you need it, but you're usually hoping you'll never need it.

If you play on easy, yes, if you play on hard it's a necessary thing if you like hand to hand fight, as i said most enemies will kill you on one or two hits, also and if i don't want to make a base in the only location where a lot of ropes spawn in the ground and not just one or two ?

just starting a new game after the 1.0 release. In all my previous games (i only play hard survival) i would always end up with a lot of stored rope, rope was never an issue. This was when you could get mutant armour from the weak mutants and that is what i wore most of the time. It would be nice if we could carry a least 20-30 ropes. Normally when i log in i would jump on the knight v and do my 'rounds' gathering loot and i would always have to leave rope behind because i couldn't carry enough.

That's the problem because there are a few places where you can actually get a lot of ropes but you only can carry 10, caves and that place where you get the knight v, if you're far from it and run out of armor and ropes you have to do a good travel to get them again, and just to enter the knight v location or a cave you already will spent some armor fighting the cannibals there

I should probably specify 30% from all sources, but like 80-90% from demons.

Duct tape is what gives me the most problem... the ropes are kinda scattered around, that's why you need the knight v. Bunch of rope (more than 10) around the beach crash site area, the waterfall (on top) and the camp at its base (where the winter jacket used to be). the lake that has a lot of rivers running into it has sunken boats with 3 or 4 rope. there's lots of rope but i can only carry 10, i guess to make room for a foldable glider. :)

The mini caves and camps introduced in 1.0 have a lot of tape. Look for blue and orange markers that only appear when you are close. Put the gps markers on a stick so you can return for more loot.
