Even in the first game sanity had little to no effect as I understand.
Second. I personally recommend just keeping the pan for water unless its any season but winter and you have water collectors at all your bases.
Greg also hydrates
Yes, but not that much compared to pure water. And usually I like to refill my water every time I get to another base. And I often found myself in situations were I was not quite ready to use a Greg buff yet, but I wanted to refill it. Water can be refilled without sacrificing much whenever you get the chance. However I can see it being better if:
1. Going to do a lot of tree cutting
2. At every base you have about 3 water collectors and its not winter.
3. You are going into caves. Since people usually prepare before going in caves stalking up on sodas and you can also have some water in a printed flask. Plus caves usually have water that you can boil.
But for simply exploring or wandering around collecting stuff(especially during winter) I think its better to simply fill it up with water. But it really depends on the exact game plan. If someone doesn't plan on sleeping much for example then liquid battery is a good option.
Green hell though. It does have a sanity meter that actually has negative impacts on the game.
Survival wise that game definitely has some 1 ups on SotF.
Venom, Poison, Hallucinations(insanity), Exhaustion, Worms, Leeches, Open wounds.
Imagining that in SotF, it would be legendary.
