Meat drying racks not working?

I put fish and meat on the meat drying rack, and it goes from raw straight to rotten in about a day. This is in a new world started after the new release. Is there any way to fix this, or am I doomed to a game of no dried meat?

Yeh figure it's a bug. Weird cus I've never experienced it but all my mates see all the stuff on the rack rotten when it's fresh

I place the racks near fire, works fine. A friend advised a while ago that, if not using fire, the meat goes from raw to rotten to dried but after multiple days. Not sure if it was bugged for him or this is how it should be...

They'll dry out, I noticed that too. They become dry after going rotten.

Is this in multiplayer by any chance? I noticed a very similar bug that was seemingly only affecting me as a guest in a multiplayer game. The host was able to see them dry normally and could retrieve them off the rack. This appeared to be mainly affecting just arms/legs though, not generic animal meat, so it might not be the exact same issue.
