one just hit the enemy at one point and hurts him (yellow)
the other one (red) is explosive and destroys the bodyparts by disassembling them

Buckshot and Slug, buckshot is better up close and slugs are better for range. Slug doesn’t have a damage drop off like buckshot but buckshot is much more powerful when up close.

Slugs are underpowered in this game; buckshot is the most useful and effective.

1 is spread shot all over the place. 1 is musket ball
slug is really under power currently. it damage like pistol somehow last time i played soo buckshot it is then for killing mutant

I've hit mutants three or four times with slugs to take them down, whereas a single blast of buckshot sends them to the great beyond. I only use slugs on moose or particularly nasty natives.

Slug is better against armored enemies, works for longer distances, but does less damage.

Regular shotgun shells do more damage and effect a bigger area, but are ineffective over long distances and are also not very effective against armour.

I echo people in disappointment at the slug, it's woefully underpowered.

Best use is to do headshots though - actually becomes useful then.

TBH Slugs would be great if they would ignore armor
