Is Virginia Puffton's name a coincidence?

In the first game Sahara Theraputics had creatures they had officially named Virginia's. This game takes place after the events of the first one. The Virginia we meet in game is named Virginia Puffton. Furthermore. She isn't even a mutant during the events of the first game as far as I am aware. Is it just a coincidence she happens to be named after the mutants from the first game is there possibly some deeper reason as to why?

Yea. It would be interesting to have some indicator why Virginia Puffton didn't face a similar fate as most other mutants usually do.

my theory is that the Virginias on the first island were made via large funding from her herself, thus the mutants were named Virginia after the one who provided the funding to make those specific mutants a reality, but that's just my theory, and it probably has, many many holes.

I mean the parents are rich so probably gave her something beforehand and while she ended up on the island she just mutated or something
