It all adds up to bad game design decisions.
Of course, occasionally I lose an arrow or crossbow bolt, but usually my supply of arrows and bolte lasts for many fights.
Lots of things in this game could have worked well with crafting workstations, but Endnight opted to make this game another run and search for your gear simulator like the first game. It's fun for a once or twice play through, but after that, it's pretty easy to see that reusing this design choice in the second game is lazy, flavourless and bland. They could have made the bunkers much more interesting moreover stashing gear away in them - especially a piece of gear like a 3D printer we have to walk back and forth to, to craft arrows.
I find the map unnecessarily large and quite monotonous, but with the glider I am able to take off from basically any place and reach any place on the map within five minutes.
