Any Techies out there Kelvin needs help

How do I modify Kelvin's file to put back "get fish - Fill Drying Rack" & "Reset Traps" commands?

Not sure. I had get stones missing for a while, and then on a different load of the same file he had it. Not your specific issue, but possibly adjacent? Might be worth a "try turning it off and on again" just in case there's an issue when he loads in. Other than that, proximity of specific items may play a factor as well as others have reported if trees aren't near enough or a holder isn't near enough he won't follow the command.

these commands still work, you just have to be in range of a drying rack or traps when you open the notepad. Same thing with arrows, can't ask him to collect them if there are none.

Get Kelvin to follow to somewhere nearer to these and reissue the command

I meant that I had an issue with Kelvin not displaying all the commands he should have had. I exited the game I was in and reloaded the same save. "Turning off the game, Turning the game back on" to see if a reset occurs on the load in of the saved game.

I have NEVER had the RESET TRAPS command. Anybody else's Kelvin/Robby have
"Reset Traps" command?

Sorry. I don't have experience with the traps. We used them in a MP game, but I wasn't tasked with any of that as I was doing most of the building. Another thing you can maybe try if exiting out and joining again doesn't resolve is to try verifying the game files via steam. I just went to start a new game for testing a build question and it wouldn't let me open up my emergency pack (axe, book, lighter, etc). When I hovered the item it said 1 million Dollars climbing axe. I verified game files and tried again, and was able to open it to get things rolling. Its definitely very buggy, but I hope this is helpful!

Yes, use this all the time. As well as being in range, the traps need to be unset (triggered) to come up in the command list.

I have also used "collect fish -> fill holder" without issue. Do you have any mods?

I've had Kelvin gather fish for me on many occasions without issue, even in rivers that seemingly had no visible fish in them. I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe try "verify integrity of game files" in the properties? See if that helps?

I've done the file integrity check. i know nothing about mods so i'm sure I've never downloaded any. After weeks of not having the 2 commands that would make kelvin/Robby worthwhile I'm ready to just ignore him completely. All I ever do anyway is tell him to take a break.

My understanding is that you can't stumble into a mod. Its very intentional.

Sorry you're running into this issue. Have you tried just for testing a separate game to see if he does it there?

It's a MIRACLE!!!!! Brought Robby to a different pond also with fish & traps AND NOW THE FISH & FILL HOLDER commands were there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY.
