Stone structures look awesome but....
Stone wall, stone beam, stone column, but WHERE THE HELL IS THE STONE FLOOR!?

not yet existent, was also wondering

Also really need the ability to snap stone pillars a set distance apart like logs do, so you can build a stone support structure over uneven terrain. Unless I haven't figure out to do it yet.

you can place a single stone like a log with the arrow pointing sideways and it will start the snap process, 3 more stones and it'll self-level just like logs

I'm no architect but not sure about stone beams, if you look at old buildings (150ys+), the structure was timber and the walls were filled in with stone etc.
Stone floor on the ground level though, I can see that working.
At this point, in the absence of any other information, I'm assuming that stone structures are significantly stronger to resist cannibal/mutant attack?!

Stone just doesnt have great tensile strength. For load bearing purposes, its used for compression; i.e. columns. Concrete, reinforced with steel rebar is obviously used today for flooring. Without the re-bar though, the concrete floor wouldn't be that great either(when not on grade).

Wood is a great all around material with good tensile and compression strength, AND is affordable. Its actually why more european countries have gotten on board with wood framing for homes. Timber framing has gone up from like 10% to 20% in the last 5 years, and another country just started an initiative to increase their timber framed construction.

Yes but once you start getting to very hard angles in uneven terrain, there's no way to build out, then level it out like you could with logs without the ability to start a pillar in the correct spot to then build a beam across.

Not sure if I'm explaining this the best.

You can level it out with logs. Your uprights to make things level (so far) need to stay log, but you can pull out those level/horizontal pieces and replace them with stone. It looks weird, but it will work that way.

Yeah I imagined that would work but I was specifically looking to make a foundation support completely out of stone, which I was not able to figure out how to do. It really needs the snap points for stone pillars.

Yeah, I was hoping that there would be a prop up mechanic that worked similar to the logs and instead of chopping off the log to level it, it was a question of 1,2,3 or 4 rocks to make the cross piece level. Just jacking up one side stone by stone until it evened up.

Are there such thing as "rock struts" or can you put log struts in between rock vertical and horizontal supports? I haven't checked yet, but if that's possible it could be a possible solution as you could build a log upright, a rock beam across, then a strut to support it and replace the log upright with stones. No idea if this actually works in game though.

So I just quickly confirmed you can put log struts to support rock beams, but it does not allow you to build up a rock pillar to the vertical beam without building along the ground first, which is impossible in certain terrain areas, sadly.
